"WELCOME TO THE MARCH issue of Minor Monthly, an issue that I have dedicated to one of the most popular variants of the Morris range, the Traveller. Over the next year we will see all variants of the Morris Minor get their own special issue but I thought it fitting to start the proceedings with what I feel is the most practical and visually pleasing model of all. No doubt there will be many of you that disagree as we all have our personal favorites but as Editor I thought I would have my choice first! As well as Traveller features, we also have advice on woodwork preservation and a company spotlight on one of the best Traveller specialists in the UK. Speaking of features I have included what I feel to be the number one modified Traveller ever built, Gary Beezer’s roof chopped and supercharged example, a truly stunning car.

"I FIND IT EXTREMELY satisfying when I receive emails and letters from people who have just bought their first Morris Minor. Not only does this mean we have more potential readers, which is always a good thing, but more importantly it means that there will be an increased number of Minors out and about on the road. Whether it’s a young student looking for a cheap everyday runabout or someone who has bought a pristine example to take around to the shows. This increased activity with the Minor helps the whole of the scene, from the traders, show organisers, owners club and branches and also those of us that just love seeing Morris Minors on the road. Without getting new blood into the scene, there is every danger that in a few years the only Minors around will be those that are stuck in museums, so next time someone comes up to you enquiring about your car, take the time to tell them all about it, you never know they could end up buying one of their own.

"DUE TO DEADLINES and lead times I find myself writing this Ed Speak for the January 2007 issue and it's not even December yet! The old adage that time flies when you are having fun certainly applies here as these last few months since I took over as Editor really have flown by. I've met lots of readers, chatted with them on the phone, exchanged email messages and generally got to know lots of you that buy this magazine. Most of the feedback so far has been favorable, and to those that have offered constructive criticism I hope that you have seen the changes come in over the last couple of issues. After all if the magazine is not what, you the readers want then I am wasting my time and your money so keep the comments coming.
